My City
The capital of the world: New York City. People come from around the globe to soak it up and a select lucky 8 million get to live there. So crowded and yet it can feel so intimately yours. The love and admiration for the city is palpable, and us natives feel proud, like it’s our very own child, or something we’ve helped create.

Lyrics
[verse]
You’d recognize the place where I’m from
If you saw it on tv
You’d recognize those streets those sounds
Of that place that made me me
You may also see all the trash
And the cracks in the shine
But all I see is all I love
Of the place that is mine
[chorus]
I am one among the millions
just another New York girl
My city was made for me
I’m just sharing it with the world
[verse]
You may get a smile from the lady
taking money and giving change
The man who passes on the street
and looks at you strange
Filled with different people
holding different dreams
But everybody shares one thing:
they’re gonna make it by any means
[chorus]
I am one among the millions
just another New York girl
My city was made for me
I’m just sharing it with the world
[verse]
Young mothers holding down two jobs
hoping for more
Undiscovered stars do their thang
standing clear of the closing doors
There’s an energy that never fades
in the city that doesn’t sleep
You gotta keep up or step aside
before you get run over, BEEP BEEP!
[chorus]
I am one among the millions
just another New York girl
My city was made for me
I’m just sharing it with the world
[Rap by Sabac Red]
[bridge]
New York, New York 5x
Just being there makes you part of it
Just being there fills your heart with it
Filled with different people
holding different dreams
But everybody shares one thing:
they’re gonna make it by any means
[chorus 2x]
I am one among the millions
just another New York girl
My city was made for me
I’m just sharing it with the world
